Posted 5/26/08 Got a line on a spare bear boat boom or good repair/fabrication source? We've got a crack in the boom that's developed over time on Camembert #57. Currently waiting on a phone call back from John B. at the South End Rowing Club, who knows my buddy Noah Taylor. We've got one estimate so far of 6-7 hours plus material to build a new one. • Backstay fitting. Cast bronze, fits on the transom, loops over the tiller and rudder, supports the backstay. We would love one ourtright, but have someone that may be able to do the casting for us. We would hope to get that going asap.
• Gooseneck fitting for the main boom.
• Blocks for the main boom, as well as the block that runs on the traveler.
• bow and stern deck cleats.
• Fairleads for the stern line. These land on the toerail.
• Winches, cleats, and or blocks that attach to the coaming and handle the jib sheets and/or main sheet.
• Club foot jibboom and gooseneck, and any other associated fittings with the club foot jib. We would like to be set up to run the club foot jib, but also have the option for running the larger jib in order to stay competitive.
• Whisker pole, and any associated fittings.
• 12 Thimbles for wire spliced shrouds. These are thimbles with a solid body and two holes for accepting turnbuckles. Vintage 1930's and or 40's is what we are looking for, hoping to do the rig as much to period as possible.
